Carolina Outreach is seeking a compassionate, experienced LCAS Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Team Lead to join our team. This leadership role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use challenges while mentoring a team of professionals dedicated to recovery and community wellness.

Compensation
$57,806 – $65,607 annually
Final compensation is based on education, licensure, experience, and other qualifications.

Position Overview
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Team Lead provides both clinical leadership and direct counseling services within the SUD program. This role works closely with the Site Manager to ensure effective program operations, high-quality treatment services, and strong clinical support for staff.
The Team Lead plays a key role in program development, staff supervision, and ensuring individuals receive timely and appropriate care for substance use and co-occurring mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership

Provide clinical leadership and guidance to SUD program staff

Provide primary or secondary clinical and/or administrative supervision to team members

Facilitate weekly team meetings and provide ongoing staff support

Ensure staff receive appropriate clinical direction and coaching

Support program growth and development based on community needs
Program Oversight

Coordinate with the Site Manager to ensure adequate staffing coverage for program services

Monitor client participation and program utilization

Assist in developing new services and treatment offerings

Ensure timely follow-up on program referrals and client intakes

Ensure assessments are completed within required timelines
Direct Clinical Services

Provide individual and group substance use counseling

Facilitate therapeutic groups focused on recovery and relapse prevention

Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
-
Support individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
-
Collaborate with clients, families, and community supports to promote recovery
Quality and Compliance

Ensure documentation meets agency and payer requirements

Monitor service authorizations and ensure services remain authorized

Ensure treatment plans are clinically appropriate and regularly reviewed

Respond to client or stakeholder concerns as needed

Advocate for clients within the community and service systems

Qualifications:Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
- At a minimum, a Master’s Degree in the Human Services field, completion of 300 supervised hours of practicum, and under current supervision by a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CSS) or Clinical Supervisor Intern (CSI). Must hold a registration issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, specifically a LCAS designation for this position.
