The Forensic Community Support Team is a specialized program designed to support individuals who are involved in the legal system and living with significant mental health or co-occurring needs. It focuses on reducing recidivism, improving stability, and promoting successful community tenure through structured treatment, skill-building, and close collaboration with probation, courts, detention, and re-entry partners. The Forensic Community Support Team Therapist provides intensive behavioral health treatment, care coordination, and clinical guidance across office, community, and court settings while encouraging team members to bring their passion to the work, support meaningful change, and engage clients with purpose-driven care tailored to their individual needs.

As part of the Forensic Community Support Team, you support a program designed to help justice-involved adults manage behavioral-health needs and maintain stability in the community. This role centers on delivering focused clinical services, coordinating with legal and community partners, and ensuring continuity of care across settings. You help clients navigate complex systems, strengthen their functioning, and work toward improved outcomes through consistent treatment and structured support.
Position Highlights.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, including the DLA-20 and diagnostic evaluations, to determine eligibility and guide treatment.
- Develop and regularly update person-centered treatment plans that reflect client needs, goals, and criminogenic risks.
- Provide therapy using evidence-based interventions suited for justice-involved populations.
- Deliver services in a variety of settings, including homes, courts, jails, and community-based locations.
- Coordinate care with probation/parole officers, court officials, detention center staff, and re-entry partners.
- Advocate for clinical needs in legal settings; attend court hearings as needed to support diversion or treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the CST LPN and Peer Support Specialist to promote medication adherence, wellness, and recovery goals.
- Monitor risk factors and intervene early to prevent hospitalization, reincarceration, or housing instability.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation
- Participate in weekly team meetings, case consultations, and required training to ensure fidelity to the model.
- Assist with data collection and reporting for outcome measures such as reduced recidivism and increased community tenure.

Compensation: $70,000.00
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, required.
- Certification / Licensure Requirements:
- Active clinical license (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or equivalent, required).
- Credentials in substance-use certification (LCAS-A, LCAS, CCS) are strongly valued.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- CPR/First Aid certification, required.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation, required.
- Experience / Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community mental health, forensic mental health, or criminal justices-related services, required.
