NCCER has an exciting opportunity in the Digital Learning department for someone who is passionate about learning and the construction industry. The successful candidate will bring strong administrative, project management, and content management capabilities to the team along with comfort in working in Learning Management Systems.
Areas of Responsibility
- Support work with internal and external Subject Matter Experts and vendors in the procurement and development of source materials that will be used to develop digital learning courses. Edit, review, test, and update content as necessary to ensure high quality, accurate, and error-free deliverables.
- Lead and/or support aspects of course builds in our Learning Management System, including building courses across multiple stages to incorporate feedback (alpha, beta, gold), testing these course builds (or those of teammates), and addressing any issues identified by customers or stakeholders in a timely manner. Support work across stakeholder groups to ensure end-to-end completion of go-live requirements (including things like billing codes, shop launch, asset tags, etc.).
- Utilize project-based tools, including Smartsheet and Jira, to track and report on progress of projects.
- Perform other administrative duties in support of the Digital Learning department, including helping to tackle review, data clean-up, and other needs as they emerge.
- Build and maintain rapport with stakeholders across the Digital Learning team and other departments. Ask questions and self-direct other learning opportunities to continue to grow, develop, and build fluency across team and organization wide needs.
- Keep up to date with the latest digital learning trends to stay informed about available formats, authoring processes and settings, emerging best practices, accessibility needs, etc. Use this knowledge to support project-related requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum two (2) years of relevant project management experience, preferably in digital learning or education, or five (5) years of instructional design experience with a desire to pivot into project management.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience with digital content development, workflows, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, detail oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication, research, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Excited, passionate, proactive, and self-motivated with an enthusiasm for learning.
- Understanding of digital educational principles, educational technology, and adult learning theories.
Software Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
- Strong project management software skills, such as Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools.
- Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle, Canvas, or Totara.
- Experience with digital content authoring tools, such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline 360 and/or Rise.
- Experience with simulation and multimedia tools such as Camtasia preferred but not required.
