Responsibilities
Marine Surveyors at NCB are responsible for conducting a variety of surveys and inspections, including:
- Container inspections for regulatory compliance
- Cargo securing verification to prevent damage or loss
- Vessel stability assessments for grain loading
- Vessel hold inspections, bunker surveys, and draft surveys
- Damaged cargo claims and risk engineering surveys
Qualifications
NCB welcomes candidates from diverse maritime backgrounds, including:
- Holders of Unlimited Master or Mates Licenses (preferred)
- Graduates of Federal Maritime Academies or State Maritime Colleges
- Former U.S. Coast Guard personnel with Marine Safety experience
- Professionals with bulk carrier/draft survey or container ship/hazardous cargo experience
- Individuals with strong verbal and written communication skills
Note: Full training will be provided.

- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Valid U.S. State Driver’s License
- Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
