Position Summary
The Project Manager and Clinical Supervisor coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Lumbee Youth Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention Network. The position keeps project activities, staff assignments, partner commitments, documentation, and quarterly goals on track while supporting budget monitoring, subaward coordination, meeting preparation, reporting, and SAMHSA compliance tasks.
The position also provides clinical oversight for the project’s suicide risk response procedures and maintains a modest caseload for therapy. This includes consultation following positive ASQ screens, safety planning, lethal-means safety counseling procedures, caregiver engagement, mandated reporting, crisis escalation, and coordination with 988, mobile crisis, emergency, behavioral health, and treatment providers. The position helps caregivers understand next steps, complete warm handoffs, resolve access barriers, and remain connected after a referral or crisis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Project and grant management Coordinate daily operations, calendars, staff assignments, partner activities, quarterly milestones, implementation records, budget monitoring, subaward coordination, SAMHSA documentation, reports, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Team and partner coordination Connect NC-YVPC staff, Lumbee Tribe Community Health Workers, evaluator and data staff, behavioral health providers, crisis partners, and community organizations around shared work plans and deadlines.
- Clinical protocol oversight and consultation Supervise the clinical components of the written suicide risk response protocol and guide staff when a young person screens positive or when suicide risk, self-harm, trauma, abuse, confidentiality, mandated reporting, or another safety concern arises.
- Safety and crisis response Oversee safety planning, lethal-means safety counseling procedures, caregiver engagement, referral escalation, and coordination with 988, mobile crisis, emergency, and treatment providers.
- Training and practice support Train and coach staff on ASQ response, confidentiality, informed consent, mandated reporting, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, and crisis escalation.
- Family engagement and care coordination Engage caregivers after positive screens or referrals when appropriate and legally permissible; provide family education, resource navigation, warm handoffs, linkage follow-up, post-crisis contact, and continued support when a first referral does not meet the family’s needs.
- Referral tracking Monitor referral status, appointments, service linkage, unresolved needs, and family follow-up in coordination with Community Health Workers and data staff.
- Quality and culturally responsive practice Use implementation and service-linkage information to improve workflows while supporting services that are trauma-informed, family-centered, respectful of Lumbee community strengths, and consistent with legal and ethical requirements.
