What are the responsibilities and job description for the University Program Associate-Hunt Library position at NC State University Libraries?
The Program Associate leads event coordination and provides administrative support for NC State University Libraries. This position supports library stakeholders, senior leadership, and the broader university community by coordinating events, managing logistics, and supporting daily administrative and operational activities across library locations.
The position schedules, plans, and coordinates a variety of events and programs, including library programs, Friends of the Libraries events, and university functions. Responsibilities include managing event requests, coordinating logistics, reserving spaces, working with vendors, and providing onsite event support to help ensure events run smoothly and efficiently. The Program Associate also supports senior leadership through scheduling, recordkeeping, stakeholder communication, and meeting coordination, while providing operational support to the Finance & Business and Libraries Development teams.
Based primarily at the Hunt Library as the administrative office lead, this role also supports activities at Hill Library and branch library locations. The position requires strong organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and event logistics effectively.
Success in this role requires clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, vendors, guests, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment across library spaces and events
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

- Demonstrated experience using various office and productivity tools including applications in the Google Workspace and Microsoft Office suite. Experience using spreadsheet software, web browsing and web conferencing programs, intranets, etc.
