Role Description
This is an on-site Painter role based in Durham, NC. This position is responsible for preparing and finishing custom sheds and outdoor structures built by NC Shed Builders. Day-to-day responsibilities include caulking, preparing surfaces for paint, and applying paint to LP SmartSide and Hardie Plank siding, trim, doors, and other exterior building components to achieve a durable, professional finish.
The Painter will be responsible for ensuring consistent quality across projects, maintaining tools and materials, organizing work areas, and following company safety standards. The role also involves collaborating with builders and other crew members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Qualifications
- Proven professional painting experience required.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, caulking, priming, and finishing techniques.
- Experience painting LP SmartSide, Hardie Plank, wood trim, and other exterior building materials.
- Ability to produce clean, consistent, high-quality finishes with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using brushes, rollers, and paint spraying equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and ladder use.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a small team.
