Servo & Proportional Valve Repair Technician
NC Servo Technology · Westland, MI 48185
On-site · Full-time · Shop hours 8:00–5:00, Mon–Fri · Somewhat flexible start and end times
About the role
You rebuild and test servo and proportional hydraulic valves from teardown to final test. You take a valve apart, find what failed, replace or rework the parts, reassemble it, then prove it on the test stand before it ships. You work with our experienced techs. Join a high-tech company established in 1975.
What you will work on
* Servo valves, proportional valves, and valves with onboard electronics
* Teardown, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly: spools and sleeves, seals, filters, torque motors, nozzle-flapper and jet-pipe stages
* Hydraulic test stand: null, gain, flow and pressure checks, leakage, hysteresis
* Driving valves from an amplifier card or signal source and reading results on dedicated test stands
* Writing up findings for the repair evaluation and quote
* Brands including Moog, Bosch Rexroth, Parker, Vickers, Atos, and legacy models the OEM no longer supports
What you bring
* Mechanically inclined: comfortable with precision teardown and reassembly of small, close-tolerance parts
* 3 years hands-on repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, or similar precision mechanical equipment, or a 2-year degree in a relevant field
* Some electronics background: can use a multimeter and a scope, read a basic schematic
* Clean, careful, and organized; documents work as it goes
* Experience with servo valves, proportional valves, or hydraulic test stands is a plus
