Description Of Work
The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Division of Public Health. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP). The Infant-Toddler Program provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three who have special needs. Research shows that this time period is critical. It offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) across North Carolina work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.

This position provides primarily home-based evaluation, assessment and behavioral health treatment services to children with developmental concerns and their families, enrolled in the NCITP. In addition, the Social Worker provides consultation to CDSA staff and staff contracted with the CDSA around mental and behavioral health issues. This position will assist with eligibility evaluations and be a part of IFSP teams. This position is also involved in community development activities to promote resources and supports for children with developmental needs

Knowledge Skills And Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range:
$43,738 -$69,888.00

Recruitment Range: $43,738 - $51,593

  • The applicant should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of behavioral and mental health issues, including evidence-based treatments, with particular emphasis on families and young children.
  • The applicant must possess a strong understanding of developmental disabilities and the unique needs of young children and their families, addressing a broad spectrum of behavioral and psychosocial concerns.
  • The applicant should be skilled in building rapport with clients and proficient in conducting clinical interviews and administering standardized assessments to evaluate psychosocial, behavioral, and child/family needs.
  • The applicant must have the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, maintain accurate client records, and function effectively with minimal supervision as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Position is funded in part through federal funds.
