Description Of Work
This position is responsible for identifying high school-aged students in Cumberland County who are blind, visually impaired, or deafblind and who may benefit from vocational rehabilitation (VR) services. This includes students attending public, charter, and private schools, as well as those who are homeschooled. The role involves conducting comprehensive assessments in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, developing and implementing individualized service plans, and coordinating with teachers and county officials to deliver appropriate services. The counselor also provides pre-employment transition services and partners with employers to create work experiences and internships that align with each student's skills, interests, and career goals—laying the groundwork for successful vocational outcomes.

Salary Range: $41, $72,897.00

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in case management, including coordinating services and monitoring progress to support client success.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to help clients achieve individualized goals.
  • Experience working with youth in transition, particularly in supporting their development and preparation for post-secondary education, employment, or independent living.

Position is funded in part through federal funds.
