Description Of Work

This position will be responsible for direct and indirect behavioral assessment and intervention services as ancillary staff, working under the clinical supervision of a licensed psychologist or licensed psychological associate. This position will also be responsible for teaching and staff training as well as

assigned tasks across organization units of the hospital. The person in this position will serve as a role model for staff and patients who demonstrate the provision of positive behavioral supports on an ongoing basis.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $32,287 - $56,502

  • Considerable knowledge of behavioral principles, mental illness, severe behavior problems, human development across the lifespan, and cultural/ethnic diversity
  • Working knowledge of federal, state. and local provisions, regulations and standards regarding behavior programming services
  • Skill in observing and recording behavior, its antecedents and consequences and related environmental factors in populations served
  • Ability to implement and train staff in the conduct of behavior treatment program
  • Ability to organize and prepare accurate records, charts (graphs) and written reports

Conditional Requirements

  • Visual attention, mental concentration, and manipulative skills are necessary for assessment, treatment, and documentations and are needed most of the time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with flexibility

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in psychology including coursework in behavior modification from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in child development, social work, education, nursing, or closely related degree including coursework in behavior modification from an appropriately accredited institution and six months of experience in a developmental center or developmental disability setting; or Associate’s degree in human services area from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience providing assessment of adaptive developmental and social behavior, goal writing, collecting and interpreting behavioral data, and developing and implementing behavior modification programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
