Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face canvassing in assigned neighborhoods to promote programs, initiatives, or fundraising campaigns
• Engage in face-to-face conversations with community members, providing clear information and answering questions about our organization
• Utilize mobile devices to record interactions, track progress, and report daily activities accurately
• Build rapport with residents through conversational engagement and active listening to identify opportunities for support or donations
• Promote community involvement by organizing events or informational sessions when appropriate
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude during outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Collaborate with team members to meet outreach goals and share insights on community needs and feedback

Requirements

• Prior experience in canvassing, or community engagement is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively face-to-face and via telemarketing techniques if needed
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to reach diverse populations within the community
• Comfortable walking for extended periods while engaging with residents at their homes or in public spaces
• Experience in customer service or fundraising enhances your ability to build trust quickly
• Proven ability to negotiate politely and persuasively while respecting individual boundaries
• Familiarity with using mobile devices for data entry, communication, and reporting during outreach activities
• Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership roles within outreach teams

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
