Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mortgage Development Officer role based in Rochester, NY. The Mortgage Development Officer is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans by building relationships with customers, real estate professionals, and community partners. Daily activities include meeting with prospective borrowers, gathering and reviewing financial information, and guiding customers through the mortgage application and approval process. The role collaborates with underwriting and processing teams to ensure timely, accurate loan decisions and a smooth closing experience. The Mortgage Development Officer also supports business development initiatives, participates in local networking and community events, and adheres to all regulatory, compliance, and internal policy requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a Loan Officer or in a similar mortgage origination role, with a focus on residential lending.
- Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including current products, regulations, and market trends.
- Demonstrated expertise in Mortgage Lending practices, loan structuring, and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with Underwriting concepts and the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
- Strong Customer Service skills, with a commitment to clear communication and a positive borrower experience.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and basic financial analysis; comfort working with numbers and compliance guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building abilities, particularly with real estate and community partners.
