The Advancement Gift Officer is a full-time, on-site role in Shrewsbury, MA reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive and support comprehensive fundraising programs designed to grow annual giving, endowment support, and overall donor participation.
- Develop and execute solicitation strategies for the Annual Fund, Endowment, reunion giving, and targeted constituent campaigns.
- Manage a portfolio of leadership prospects throughout the moves management cycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for annual, endowment, and capital priorities.
- Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to create compelling donor communications, appeals, and engagement strategies.
- Support donor and community engagement events, including receptions, reunion activities, and regional gatherings. Evening and weekend availability is required.
- Travel may be needed for donor visits and events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Advancement team’s goals.
- Bachelor’s degree required; experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in building relationships, engaging prospects, and securing support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey the mission of Saint John’s with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player who values shared success and thrives in a mission-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and familiarity with Blackbaud or similar CRM platforms.
- Experience in or knowledge of Catholic or independent secondary schools is a plus.
