Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
This is a part-time project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 6 - 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
You are responsible for the support of our various Production units within NBC Sports. The role serves as a first line of support for Production that runs 24/7.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with Content Metadata and/or Enhanced Descriptive Metadata entry & editing
- Supporting our on-air Production teams with external media tape loads & equipment loans
- Assist with onboarding of new clients for content acquisition (Mediashuttle, Latakoo)
- Digitization of physical assets into the NBC Sports MAM
- Managing the daily ingest of recorded events (pressers, shows, sporting events) and cataloguing appropriately
- Monitoring & managing the storage levels of multiple workgroups and workspaces
- Providing daily support to Production in prioritizing asset restore requests in a timely period
- Assisting Production in both the distribution and retrieval of content using various digital deliveries (MediaShuttle, DropBox, etc.)
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to understand immediate issues and respond to meet day-of-air deadline
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree in TV Production or related field or equivalent work experience
- Individual embracing and enthusiastic with new technologies
- Experience within a broadcast and/or post-production environment
- Excellent communication and client skills
- Attention to detail and responsiveness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Technologically Proficient
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently but also alongside a team
- Able to handle and prioritize a high volume of production requests within a timely period
