| Job Description Summary | The Virtual Infrastructure Engineer supports the academic and administrative missions of the university by designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, reliable and scalable virtual server environment. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle management of virtual machines using VMware vSphere, supporting both Windows and Linux server environments. The engineer ensures system availability and performance, maintains accurate infrastructure documentation, and oversees virtual storage operations leveraging NetApp storage solutions. Responsibilities also include monitoring alerts, responding to incidents, and collaborating with network and cybersecurity personnel to maintain a secure and scalable environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to service excellence in a dynamic higher education setting. |
