Job Summary

Nazareth University is seeking an IT Support Analyst - Classroom AV Support to support the technology that keeps our classrooms, labs, meeting spaces, and campus events running smoothly.

This role provides hands-on support for classroom AV systems, video conferencing, lecture capture, streaming, digital signage, and other academic technology tools used by faculty, staff, students, and campus partners. The ideal candidate is technically curious, customer-focused, comfortable troubleshooting in real time, and able to support both day-to-day technology needs and larger AV infrastructure projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in AV, classroom technology, event technology, IT support, or higher education technology who enjoys solving problems, supporting users, and working in a collaborative campus environment.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair audio visual equipment and specialized technology systems across classrooms, labs, clinics, conference rooms, and other campus spaces.
  • Support classroom AV technologies, including projectors, switchers, amplifiers, microphones, displays, video/web conferencing tools, lecture capture, streaming solutions, and digital signage.
  • Provide responsive support to faculty, staff, students, and campus partners to ensure technology is functional, reliable, and ready for daily use.
  • Coordinate AV installations, repairs, and service needs with third-party vendors.
  • Assist with setup and second-level support for audiovisual and video conferencing needs for academic, administrative, and community-sponsored events.
  • Independently coordinate AV infrastructure projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Research, price, and recommend technical solutions based on user needs, space requirements, and budget considerations.
  • Provide end-user training and guidance for classroom technology and AV systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, maintenance documentation, and equipment storage organization.
  • Create and update documentation in the ITS Knowledge Base.
  • Assist with computer imaging, testing, deployment, remote support, and group management through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
  • Contribute to student worker training materials and support continuous improvement of technology support processes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving AV and academic technology tools.
  • Provide occasional off-hours AV support for campus events as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in A/V Technology, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field; or an Associate’s degree in another field with directly relevant experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of directly relevant experience preferred, though candidates with a strong technical foundation, proven aptitude, and ability to learn in a highly technical environment may also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience or strong aptitude with audio visual technology, classroom technology, IT support, or related technical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and solve the whole problem.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to understand technology issues from the user’s perspective.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a service-oriented environment.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and comfort working through ambiguity.
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Extron device configuration or programming.
  • Technical certifications related to AV, IT, networking, or classroom technology.
  • Experience supporting technology in a higher education, school, event, or training environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work primarily in an office and campus environment with moderate to light noise.
  • Ability to walk across campus, work at a computer, and perform hands-on technology support in classrooms and other campus spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Some climbing may be required for equipment setup, installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
