Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hospice team. This position follows a unique 7 on / 7 off schedule, allowing for extended time off while providing consistency for patients. The ideal candidate is experienced in end-of-life care, demonstrates exceptional clinical and communication skills, and thrives in a flexible, independent environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or facilities.
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
- Offer emotional support to patients and their families.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient symptoms.
- Educate families on what to expect during the hospice journey.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with agency standards and regulations.
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage as needed during your 7 days on.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
- Minimum of 1 year of hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
