Duties

- Short Order Cooking: Prepares grilled sandwich items such as cheeseburgers, grilled ham and cheese. Uses fryer for such items as French fries and fried chicken sandwiches. Cuts meats and prepares sandwiches such as a ham and turkey club. Prepares chef salads, sets up salad bar. Prepares coffee and tea for serving. Stocks and readies grill area for preparing of food. May be required to help prepare full course meals on special occasions; serves food cafeteria-style to diners and/or carries pre-ordered food to tables.
- Janitorial: Vacuums carpets, cleans furniture, washes floors. Performs a full range of cleaning tasks in the building including washing walls, baseboards, windows and ledges, cleaning appliances, counters, vents, mirrors, commodes and urinals. Empties ash trays, waste and garbage containers.
- Bussing: Removes dishes and utensils from tables. Resets tables with place mats, utensils, napkins, sugar, salt, etc. Sets up or assists in setting up and taking down tables and chairs for special parties or functions.
- Other: May operate cash register and make associated reports when collecting payment for meals. Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.

- Requires knowledge in preparing grilled items, salads, cold cut sandwiches and use of related appliances.
- Requires knowledge of janitorial maintenance, products and ability to perform cleaning duties independently. Must have ability to follow oral and written instructions, use kitchen equipment (chopper, grinders, shredders, meal slicer) and to determine when foods are properly cooked.
