Summary

This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to provide beverage service in a dining room, bar/lounge facility.

Duties

Help

  • Sets up bar for operation, including garnishes for mixed drinks.
  • Mixes and serves a limited variety of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes.
  • Serves patrons directly, receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to the patron.
  • At close of facility, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), verifies amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the safe.
  • Performs basic cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washes bar equipment, glassware, utensils, etc. to maintain a constant and clean working area.
  • Ensures all current sanitation requirements are followed and maintained.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must pass all applicable records and background check.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Starting May 7, 2025, non-affiliated individuals requesting access will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or another acceptable form of identification to access CNRMA Installations. (review required documents section for more information.)
  • Must be able to obtain a Health Card prior to first day of work.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a Food Handlers Sanitation Course and update and maintain annually.
  • Subject to Irregular Tour - including nights weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.

A qualified candidate must possess:

  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling procedures to compute charges and make change quickly and accurately.
  • Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures.
  • Must be a mature individual who can exercise control over a large group of people to ensure good order and discipline as necessary.
  • Must possess working knowledge and skill to mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a limited bar.
  • A minimum of six months experience is strongly preferred.
