You will serve as a Correctional Program Officer/Deputy in the Corrections and Programs Office of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND.

Qualifications:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Applying correctional administration and management theories and policies to assess and improve correctional programs and command operations, 2.) Developing, adjusting, and monitoring project plans for information system projects and studies, including project objectives, schedules, deliverables, funding, and staffing, 3.) Reviewing and interpreting new or established directives, instructions, and regulations, and advise senior management on potential impact on major program objectives, operating policies, and work operations, 4.) Gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data in order to identify trends or relationships among variables and to support senior leadership decision-making., 5.) Conduct on-site visits and provide technical assistance to Navy commands operating naval offender management and transient unit personnel units., 6.) Applying analytical and typing skills to produce documents on a personal computer using Microsoft Office or related governmental software. and 7.) Applying working knowledge of correctional administration and management theories and policies to assess and improve corrections and command operations; participate with superiors and peers in short and long-range planning.

For positions at GS-11 and above, experience must also have demonstrated the ability to perform supervisory or administrative duties successfully. This includes (1) understanding the problems of custody, treatment, training, and release of inmates of penal or correctional institutions; (2) a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of an institution's internal policies, programs, regulations, and procedures; and (3) training subordinates, coordinating and directing activities and functions, evaluating performance of operations and the effectiveness of programs, and maintaining high standards or work objectives. This experience must have been gained in an administrative position, or in other positions that included the successful direction, or assistance in the direction of, an entire correctional program or a major phase of such a program.
