Overview

Direct and lead the Program Management Team to support programs critical to the operations of Lending’s Credit Risk Management Function. Serve as the central coordinator across Lending Analytics to align program delivery, model monitoring, and control activities with business priorities, risk appetite, and enterprise standards. Act as a connective leader across analytics, data, and technology partners to ensure work is sequenced, resourced, and delivered with clear accountability. Guide a comprehensive control environment for data and processes across the full lending life cycle, including originations, account management and loss reserving. Provide strategic direction, vision, and guidance on all aspects of in-scope programs and ensure alignment with corporate and departmental goals and initiatives. Ensure smooth and effective operation of in-scope programs while also evolving them to meet the ongoing needs. Drive the maturation of the function to ensure consistency between programs and support team members with their professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Direct strategic business development/change projects in the division to ensure the internal control environment is in alignment with risk tolerance and group standards
  • Establish program priorities and set short/long-term program goals and ensure team objectives align to Lending department strategy
  • Provide overall leadership to large strategic projects and/or programs; ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation; meet schedules and/or resolve highly technical and complex problems
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs, establish program visions, identify alternatives to program norms, and develop action plans to drive change and increase program effectiveness
  • Partner with Enterprise Technology to coordinate data, integration, and platform capabilities; manage intake, prioritization, and delivery commitments for analytics-enabling technical work
  • Oversees the Lending Analytics data ecosystem by leading data analyst function and driving data quality, governance execution, automation (including anomaly detection), and trusted data product enablement to support business decision-making at scale
  • Serve as the translator across modeling, analytics, business, and risk stakeholders—converting technical and analytical concepts into clear business impacts, requirements, and decisions to support credit risk modeling and analytics delivery
  • Support policy and procedure governance and examination readiness, including coordination for internal/external audits and NCUA/regulatory requests; ensure timely issue remediation and sustainable control improvements
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines to share knowledge, achieve mutual program goals, mitigate program risks, and implement efficiencies
  • Mature Program Management as a discipline within the branch, establishing standards and best practices that can be shared within the department and the enterprise
  • Develop and maintain relationships with team members, management, vendors, and key technical/non-technical stakeholders to support program execution and growth
  • Monitor business landscape and add or remove programs from scope as dictated by business need; Monitor program health and keep executive leadership apprised of program status at regular intervals; Monitor work environment and allocation of resources to ensure adequate staffing to meet programs demands
  • Foster an environment within the team that encourages timely, transparent communication and meaningful feedback loops that drive sustained engagement and trust; Encourage creative and innovative thinking from team members to bring their ideas to fruition
  • Support team members with their professional growth through enabling and encouraging stretch assignments, job rotations, and learning opportunities
  • Lead and develop the team, including (supervisory/managerial responsibilities, hiring/onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development)Support planning activities (e.g., budgeting and annual financial plan) and perform other duties as assigned such as supporting departmental strategic initiatives and contributing to departmental reporting as needed


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services Extensive experience in supervising and leading employees
  • Extensive experience leading large, complex, cross-functional programs and projects with significant business risk and impact
  • Extensive experience in people leadership and program management to drive changes in a complex/matrixed environment
  • Extensive project/program management experience (e.g., managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals; establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation)
  • Expert stakeholder management skills (e.g., ability to influence, negotiate and persuade to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomes; interact with staff, management, vendors and members diplomatically and tactfully; build effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact)
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, including translating business needs into actionable requirements and recommendations and using innovative thinking to solve problems and facilitate the decision-making process
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills (e.g., presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely
  • Proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g. database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Finance, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience


Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Finance, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Prior management consulting or experience in a consulting-like role (e.g., strategy, transformation, PMO, internal consulting) driving enterprise initiatives from problem definition through delivery and adoption
  • Experience with credit union financials and/or NCUA regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives
