Position Title: Central Service / Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Hyannis, MA
Job Type: Contract | 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $28 – $31 per hour
Position Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is Seeking a qualified Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, preparation, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment while ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, disinfect, and prepare instruments and equipment using approved methods and PPE.
- Assemble, inspect, wrap, label, and containerize instrumentation using count sheets and preference cards.
- Select and operate sterilization processes; document and verify sterilization loads and biological tests.
- Store, retrieve, distribute, and track sterile supplies and surgical equipment.
- Operate SPD equipment including steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris I, washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and testing devices.
- Support inventory control, ordering, stocking, and communicate supply issues.
- Work independently, maintain a clean work area, serve as an SPD resource, and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Basic computer and interpersonal skills.
- Medical Terminology required (course or exam).
- Must meet one: Anatomy & Physiology course/exam, SPD certification, or 3 years recent SPD experience.
- Ability to pass SPD Technician Certification exam.
Technician Levels:
- Tech I: 1 year SPD aide experience SPD certification.
- Tech II: 1 year SPD technician experience Surgical Instrument Processor certification.
- Tech III: Tech II qualifications Surgical Instrument Processor and/or Ambulatory Surgery Technician certification.
