Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Location: Hamilton, NY 13346
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
(Includes 30-Minute Unpaid Break)
Compensation
- Traveler Pay: $2,126 Weekly
- Local Pay: $1,600 Weekly
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and certified Surgical Technologist to support a fast-paced Operating Room team in a hospital setting. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures while maintaining sterile technique and ensuring the operating room is properly prepared for each case.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards
- Perform surgical scrubbing duties for a variety of operative procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
- Assist with patient positioning, room turnover, and preparation for subsequent cases
- Ensure proper handling and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of Surgical Technologist experience in a hospital setting required
- Current Surgical Technologist certification required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Prior Operating Room scrub experience required
