Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) – Travel
Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire)
Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Schedule: 40 hrs/week | Rotating Days, Weekends & Holidays
Job Summary
Responsible for decontamination, inspection, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and decontaminate instruments using proper PPE and protocols
- Assemble, inspect, wrap, label, and prepare instrument sets
- Operate sterilization systems (Steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris) and document cycles
- Store, track, and distribute sterile supplies per physician preference cards
- Operate and maintain washers, disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and related equipment
- Support inventory management, stocking, and supply tracking
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support team operations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- SPD Certification (required or must obtain)
- Medical Terminology knowledge
- Anatomy & Physiology (course or certification)
- Minimum 3 years of recent SPD experience
- Basic computer skills and strong communication abilities
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilization practices
