Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology
Location: Neptune, NJ
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in oncology, particularly with hematologic malignancies, and be skilled in delivering comprehensive nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients, including those with leukemia and lymphoma
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and monitor patient responses
- Administer medications and treatments, including chemotherapy (as applicable)
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with standards of care
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and patient-centered care delivery
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care processes
Patient Population:
- Adult oncology patients (acute inpatient setting)
- Special focus on leukemia and lymphoma cases
Schedule & Work Details:
- Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: 3 out of 6 holidays
- Call: None
- Floating: Required based on unit needs
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient oncology experience
- Experience with leukemia & lymphoma patients
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card (required)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Telemetry experience
- Additional oncology certifications
