Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Tele (Orthopedic Unit)
Location: Columbia, SC
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule
- Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 16 hours (Non-billable)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg Orthopedic unit that also supports Telemetry units as needed. This role requires strong orthopedic experience along with the ability to float across MS/Tele units. Candidates must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and completing an EKG competency during onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Orthopedic and Telemetry units
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (Telemetry)
- Deliver post-operative orthopedic care
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage patient care plans
- Document in Epic EMR
- Float across units/campuses based on facility needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
Unit Details
- Unit: Med/Surg Orthopedic (floating to MS/Tele)
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5–6
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
- Cases: Orthopedic surgeries, cardiac conditions, COPD, DVT, PE, stroke/TIA, diabetes
- Additional Requirement: EKG exam during onboarding
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN License or Compact License
- Minimum 1 year recent MS/Tele experience in large facility
- Strong Orthopedic experience required
- Minimum 1 year Epic EMR experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Required)
- Charge experience preferred
