Location: New York, NY 10037
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7:30 PM – 8:00 AM)
Schedule: 3 shifts/week (11.5 hours per shift)
Hours: 34.5 hours/week
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg unit in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams
- Provide direct bedside care to pre-operative and post-operative patients
- Administer and document medications in accordance with physician orders
- Perform clinical procedures such as wound care, IV therapy, catheter insertion, and dressing changes
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and report any adverse reactions promptly
- Operate and adjust medical equipment as needed
- Support discharge planning and patient transitions of care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care
- Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and documentation
- Follow established nursing standards, protocols, and infection control guidelines
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in:
- A large acute care hospital setting (preferred), or
- Post-acute or acute care facility
- Recent experience within the past year required
- Strong clinical skills in:
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- IV therapy
- Wound care & infection control
- Post-operative care
- Telemetry monitoring
- Patient education
Preferred Skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
Certifications & Licensure
- Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verified)
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification (preferred/required based on unit)
