Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Adult ED)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule
- Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 Hours (07:00 – 19:00)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: As required (some holidays)
- Orientation: Standard hospital orientation (as applicable)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-volume acute care facility. This role focuses on adult ED care with exposure to pediatric patients as needed. Candidates must be confident working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment such as a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (Adult ED)
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize patient care based on acuity
- Manage both adult and pediatric emergency cases
- Assist in trauma and critical care situations
- Administer medications and emergency interventions as required
- Document patient care using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, RTs, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain compliance with hospital emergency protocols and safety standards
Unit Details
- Unit: Emergency Department (Adult ED)
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Trauma Level Experience Preferred: Level I or II
- Patient Population: Adult and Pediatric ED cases
- Scheduling: 07:00–19:30 shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (Required)
- Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care ED experience
- Experience in Level I or Level II trauma center preferred
- Certifications: BLS (Required)
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Strong communication and critical thinking abilities
