Job Title: Registered Nurse – Outpatient Family Practice Clinic
Location: Polson, MT
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour Shifts
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Registered Nurse (RN) to support patient care in a busy Outpatient Family Practice Clinic. The ideal candidate will provide clinical nursing support, assist with preventative care services, coordinate patient follow-up, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality outpatient care. This role is best suited for nurses who enjoy working in an ambulatory care setting and are comfortable in a non-bedside environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing support for patients receiving care in an outpatient family practice setting.
- Assist providers with patient assessments, examinations, and clinical procedures.
- Perform point-of-care (POC) testing and document results accurately.
- Administer immunizations and other ordered treatments in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Manage patient follow-up activities, including phone calls, care coordination, and patient education.
- Monitor and respond to patient messages, refill requests, and clinical inquiries through the electronic medical record system.
- Support preventative health initiatives and chronic disease management programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, immunizations, and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Float between outpatient clinic locations as needed to support operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Current BLS Certification required.
Experience
- Previous outpatient clinic, family practice, primary care, ambulatory care, or physician office experience preferred.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Experience with immunizations, patient education, and outpatient nursing workflows preferred.
- Experience using electronic medical records required; EPIC experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
- Experience performing point-of-care testing and routine nursing procedures.
- Knowledge of immunization administration and patient education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Additional Information
- Start Date: ASAP
- Monday through Friday schedule.
- No weekends required.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Floating between outpatient clinic locations may be required based on operational needs.
- Alternative scheduling options, including four 10-hour shifts per week, may be considered based on clinic needs.
- Candidates should be comfortable working in an outpatient clinic environment rather than a bedside hospital setting.
