Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 40 Hours Per Week
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Dietitian for an exciting Travel or Local job in Bronx, NY. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy within a behavioral health setting while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients and clients.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy based on clinical conditions and evidence-based guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on therapeutic diets, nutrition principles, and healthy eating habits.
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Participate in menu planning, quality improvement initiatives, and nutrition-related policy development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor patient food intake, tolerance, and adherence to prescribed diets.
- Support implementation of nutrition care plans and ongoing patient nutrition management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field required.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) Credential required.
- Completion of an Accredited Dietetic Internship required.
- Strong clinical nutrition knowledge and assessment skills.
- Experience developing and implementing nutrition care plans.
- Experience providing medical nutrition therapy.
- Ability to educate patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field preferred.
- New York State Certification/Licensure (CDN) preferred or obtainable after hire.
- Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings preferred.
- Cultural competency and patient-centered approach to care.
