Radiation Therapist – Radiation Oncology

Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist for a contract assignment in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering radiation therapy treatments, maintaining patient safety, and collaborating with multidisciplinary oncology teams to provide exceptional patient care.

This opportunity is open to both experienced travelers and first-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely
• Position patients for treatment and ensure proper immobilization techniques
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment
• Monitor patients during treatment and report any concerns or reactions
• Maintain accurate patient treatment records and documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff
• Follow all radiation safety and infection control protocols
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
• Float between like units as needed based on department requirements

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience required
• Acute care or oncology experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS Certification required
• ARRT (T) Certification required
• Active state license required
• Pending licenses will not be accepted
