Phlebotomist – Night Shift Contract

Location: Mauston, WI

Schedule: Night Shift – 7 Shifts On / 8 Shifts Off

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to perform blood collection procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for specimen collection, laboratory support functions, patient identification, and ensuring accurate processing of laboratory orders and specimens.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture blood draws, heel sticks, and finger sticks

• Verify patient identification and specimen information accurately

• Process and prepare laboratory specimens according to established protocols

• Review laboratory orders and ensure accuracy of physician information

• Enter and update patient demographics and laboratory information

• Prepare pathology, cytology, bone marrow biopsy, and fine needle aspirate specimens for send-out testing

• Review and process pathology reports and related documentation

• Conduct drug screens and breathalyzer testing as required

• Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards

• Utilize computer systems for documentation, order entry, and record management

• Assist with additional laboratory and departmental duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• BLS Certification required (or obtained within 3 months of hire)

• Comprehensive phlebotomy skills

• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen handling

• Intermediate computer proficiency

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy or related healthcare experience

• Valid Driver’s License preferred
