Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Oncology (Inpatient)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Type: Contract
Pay Rate: Local up to $74/hr | Travel up to $85/hr (Based on experience)
Contract Duration: 15 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Schedule: Monday – Friday | Hours/Week: 42.5
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner – Oncology for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with attending physicians to provide comprehensive patient care
- Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions within inpatient settings
- Provide oncology-related care and support (preferred specialization)
- Document subjective and objective findings, assessments, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the medical record
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and results
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and care plans
- Utilize prescriptive authority in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care delivery in an acute care environment
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in New York State required
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required
- Inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred
- Current CPR and ACLS certification required
- Eligible for or possession of Medicare NPI number required
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced acute care setting
