Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Storm Lake, IA
Duration: 8-Week Contract
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a busy healthcare setting. The Medical Assistant will assist with patient care, clinical procedures, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities while ensuring excellent patient service and efficient clinic workflow.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support front and back office clinical operations
Greet, room, and prepare patients for provider visits
Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs
Perform blood draws and venipuncture procedures
Administer vaccines as directed by providers
Assist with EKGs and Point of Care (POC) testing
Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care
Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with inquiries
Maintain and update Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Support providers and clinical staff throughout daily operations
Ensure smooth patient flow and positive patient experience
Maintain clean and organized patient care areas
Follow clinic safety, infection control, and compliance standards
Required Qualifications:
2–3 years of Medical Assistant experience required
Front and back office experience required
Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required
EKG experience required
Point of Care (POC) testing experience required
Patient scheduling experience required
Patient rooming and vital signs experience required
EMR experience required
Current BLS or CPR certification required
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills required
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
Experience with health education and patient outreach preferred
