Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) – Emergency Department
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Night Shift – 4x10 Hours (5:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
Start Date: ASAP
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW) to support patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality psychosocial care, crisis intervention, and care coordination to patients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and emotional support to patients and families
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop discharge and care plans
- Assist patients with community resources, referrals, and follow-up care coordination
- Respond to emergency situations including trauma, abuse, mental health crises, and end-of-life care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
- Support patient advocacy and ensure culturally competent care
- Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
Required Qualifications:
- Active LMSW or LCSW License (State of Alaska or pending accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- Emergency Room (ER) experience preferred
- Strong crisis intervention and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments
Additional Requirements:
- Weekend availability required
- No on-call requirement
- Travelers must reside 50 miles from the facility
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
