Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist
Location: Lubbock, TX
Type: Contract | 26 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 7 Days On / 7 Days Off | 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM | 40 Hours/Week
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Inpatient Pharmacist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Lubbock, TX.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders, hospital policies, and regulatory standards
- Evaluate medication therapies to ensure appropriate dosing, effectiveness, and patient safety
- Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic outcomes
- Provide evidence-based clinical recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in medication reconciliation and ensure accurate medication histories
- Prepare, compound, and verify medications, including sterile and non-sterile preparations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and hospital pharmacy regulations
- Assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy protocols, policies, and quality improvement initiatives
- Monitor controlled substances and maintain accurate inventory management practices
- Respond to medication-related inquiries and provide drug information to healthcare providers
- Document pharmacy interventions and clinical activities according to facility requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes
- Participate in patient safety and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and support accreditation and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy required
- Active and unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License required
- Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
- Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacy practices, pharmacokinetics, medication safety, and formulary management
- Experience reviewing medication orders and providing clinical interventions in an acute care setting
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while managing multiple priorities
- Strong commitment to patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pediatric hospital settings preferred
- Previous experience in a children's hospital or trauma center preferred
- Board Certification or advanced clinical training preferred
- Familiarity with automated dispensing systems and CPOE systems preferred
