The Role

NaviStone is on a mission! We're moving fast, doubling the size of our business over the next 2 years. Our team is rapidly expanding our footprint and we are hiring a new Senior Software Engineer on our team. This role will allow you to collaborate with an innovative and forward-thinking team, use your deep industry knowledge to directly contribute to the release of quality engineering solutions, and support the future of the software and company.

What You'll Do

• You will develop, maintain, and scale the codebase of our enterprise processes and services with leading edge tool stacks and advanced agentic techniques.

• You will participate in planning sessions and contribute to a fast-paced, learn-quick environment.

• You will be responsible for contributing to the maturity of our testing and quality practices.

• You will always be on the lookout for ways to continuously improve our systems, practices, and operating procedures.

• You will need to organize and present technical proposals and demos to peers and the product team.

• You will exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of your duties without explicitly being told what to do each day.

• You will embody a “Win as a Team” mentality by mentoring and supporting your fellow team members.

What You Will Need to Succeed

• You have a minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on data-intensive systems, data pipelines, or machine learning.

• You have expert-level proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Javascript, Python, or other scripting languages.

• You are skilled with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.

• You are highly proficient with various database technologies, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) an experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines for data-intensive applications.

• You have experience with current-gen AI/ML technologies, such as NLP, LLMs, or Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).

• You can explain and support your decisions, opinions, and proposals succinctly, particularly as it pertains to complex technical topics.

• You are passionate about building practical, balanced, and high-quality solutions.

• You make ongoing learning and career development a priority.

Location: Must be in Cincinnati, OH. Will be working at our Over-the-Rhine office; Hybrid role, in office 2 days per week (relocation not included)
