Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice.
- Perform EKGs, specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical procedures as assigned.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and obtain insurance authorizations.
- Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.
- Float between multiple specialty departments based on staffing needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
- Medical Assistant Diploma, required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification, highly preferred.
- Oncology -Gynecology and Breast knowledge, preferred
- Experience in a specialty clinic or outpatient setting, preferred.
- Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.
