What are the responsibilities and job description for the PIPEFITTER (Duty Pipefitter) position at NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC?
You will serve as a Pipefitter in the Production Division, Public Works Department Naval Station Norfolk, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform common tasks including 1) Assisting in installing, modifying, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing industrial or domestic high-temperature water and high-pressure piping systems and equipment; 2) Assisting with planning, laying out and installing piping systems and equipment from blueprints, sketches, etc.; 3) Assisting with performing soft soldering and silver brazing with an oxyacetylene torch. You work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
