What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Liaison position at Naveah Health Services?
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Liaison/ Marketer to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as a bridge between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring seamless coordination of behavioral health services within a busy hospital environment. Your expertise will help facilitate comprehensive assessments, discharge planning, and community resource connections, all while providing empathetic patient-centered care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.
Duties
- Build and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, emergency departments, primary care and psychiatric practices, schools, courts/probation, employers, and community organizations across the McKinney / North Texas area.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to referral sources (discharge planners, case managers, counselors, HR/benefits contacts) to introduce and reinforce Naveah's IOP, PHP, outpatient, MAT/SUD, and EAP services.
- Represent Naveah at community events, health fairs, provider luncheons, and professional association meetings.
- Track referral sources and outreach activity in a CRM or referral log; report on referral volume and relationship status to leadership.
- Distribute and help maintain marketing and referral collateral (brochures, referral pads, digital content) in coordination with the practice's broader marketing materials.
- Respond promptly to inbound referral inquiries and coordinate handoff to intake/admissions staff.
- Identify new outreach opportunities — underserved referral niches, community partnerships, and events — and bring recommendations back to leadership.
- Maintain a working understanding of each program's admission criteria so referrals are appropriately matched to the right level of care.
- Ensure all outreach and marketing activity complies with HIPAA and applicable healthcare marketing/anti-kickback regulations.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, healthcare administration, social work, or a related field — or equivalent experience in behavioral health outreach.
- Prior experience liaising for an IOP, PHP, MAT/SUD, or psychiatric program specifically.
- Existing relationships with local hospital discharge planners, primary care practices, or school counseling departments.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- 1 years of experience in community liaison, business development, or marketing work, ideally within behavioral health, substance use treatment, or another healthcare setting.
- Existing familiarity with the McKinney / North Texas healthcare and referral landscape is a strong plus.
- Comfortable and confident representing a clinical practice in person — strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Organized and self-directed; able to manage a territory and a referral pipeline with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and comfort handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to referral sites and events.
- Basic proficiency with CRM tools, spreadsheets, and email/calendar software.
