- Job Summary
- We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Attendant/Caretaker for a 35 y.o. male with Autism. While he has a full vocabulary, he does not like to converse, but can communicate well when he chooses to. He is fairly self sufficient, but requires help with some things.
- Availability: 3-6 hr shifts; M - F, (3-5 days per week), Day or Evening
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming. Applicant must have reliable transportation w/air conditioning.
- Outdoor activities: park to feed ducks, swing. Go to library, grocery shopping, bowling.
- inform client when it's time to brush teeth, shower, maintain hygene.
- household tasks: change sheets, wash, dry, hang and fold clothes.
- work to stimulate, exercise (light), mental exercise.
- Hobbies and likes: movies, video games, playing with dog, bowling, shopping
Experience
- Prior experience with adults with special needs helpful.
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration
- Familiarity with caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, on the Autism spectrum.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
