Project Estimator– NAVCO Homes (Suffolk, VA)
Location: Suffolk, Virginia
Employment Type: Full-Time
The Project Estimator (PE) is a key role at Navco Homes. The PE will be responsible for creating estimates in a timely manner to home owners, real estate agents, insurance agents, and other real estate professionals. The PE must be detail oriented with knowledge of residential construction including but not limited to materials, labor requirements, and timelines to complete projects. The PE will assist the Sales Manager with generating price requirements for large and small construction projects as well as be responsible for completing PICRA repair estimates with no more than a 24-hr lead time. Project estimates should be accurate, timely, and align with the construction standards set forth by Navco, state, and industry at large.
About the Role
As the Project Estimator, you will be responsible for completing estimates for home inspection repairs, small repairs, large remodels, and other projects in a timely and accurate fashion. Your responsibility is to ensure fair, competitive pricing while aligning with the goals of the company at large. You will be part of a larger sales team that is continuing to grow. By using various estimating soft ware and charts, you will be responsible for the continued growth and trust of NAVCO Homes in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, industry agents, and interdepartmentally
- Manage project documentation
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Determine labor and material costs
- Create estimates based on home inspection reports
- Complete estimates and costing for Sales Manager and other projects, as needed
- Follow-up with potential customers
- Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in administration, customer service, or bookkeeping.
- Experience in a real estate or construction environment strongly preferred.
Performance Metrics
- Accuracy and timeliness of QuickBooks data entry and invoicing.
- Responsiveness to calls, emails, and inspection reports.
- Consistency in pricing and timeliness of job completion.
- Professional and welcoming client/visitor experience.
- Office maintained in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to move about the office and assist with light organizing/cleaning tasks.
