Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory Welding/Cutting & New Construction team of Reactor Servicing Systems has an opening for an experienced mechanical engineer. New Construction Operations personnel are cognizant of the processes, procedures, and technical engineering support necessary to assemble and install the power units into ships.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. - Maintain Reactor Servicing Procedures.
- Provide engineering support to resolve problems.
- Provide effective communications during interfaces with the shipyard, Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc., and Naval Reactors.
- Possible opportunity for equipment design and qualification as a Shipyard Liaison Engineer.
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
- Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
- Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
- Degrees in Mechanical Engineering are preferred, but not required.
- Mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience with 3D modeling.
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
