Summary
You will serve as a Plubmer in the Facililties Management & Sustainement Product Line of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will perform plumbing tasks including the installation, modification, and repair of new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems, such as, sewage, water, and gas distribution systems.You will install, modify, and repair systems by locating and tapping mainlines, cutting route opening, placing hangers, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed.You will locate leaks or obstructions and repairs or clears them.You will lay-out, fabricate and install piping systems in relation to walls, passageways, obstructions, location of machinery and other considerations.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing supply and disposal systems within facility infrastructure; 2) Making repairs to toilets, urinals, and sinks as needed, clearing blockages as needed through-out the PNSY arena; 3) Interpreting building plans, blueprints, and sketches to lay out the routing; 4) Testing and adjusting systems and equipment for proper operation, flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions; and 5) Installing and repairing HVAC chilled water and hot water lines. An on-call duty mechanic is required to carry a duty cell phone and duty pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
