Summary

You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Branch, Public Works Department Oceana of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will participate in acquisition planning conferences with staff officers, contract administrators, contract specialists and customer activities on complex jobs.You will review FSC maintenance documents for conformances with Federal Acquisition Regulations and Navy regulations for completeness, contractibility, practicability, and scope.You will visit work sites to gain further information pertaining to the scope of work, amount and type of labor and materials required, and work problems anticipated in order to prepare FSC maintenance specifications, task orders, and estimates.You will maintain a complete material and engineering data file to include contract and material procurement information, frequently used federal specifications, price index of materials and local vendors, contractors, and manufacturers.You will prepare specifications, make cost estimates, prepare schedules and track quantities.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing contract documents for FSC contracts for the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of property and equipment; 2) Participating in acquisition planning conferences to advise on scope of work; 3) Providing written and verbal status updates for assigned projects; 4) Using various computer software packages to prepare specifications, make cost estimates, prepare schedules and track quantities.
