Position Duties/Responsibilities
Works under the direction of a mechanic or Shop Supervisor. Welds repetitive items such as engine and aircraft parts, etc. Selects proper size, and type of electrodes or welding rods for type of weld. Operates electric resistance welding machines, setting proper heat range, etc. Observes safety measures and takes precaution against fire. Must exercise care to avoid excessive warping. May weld a variety of metal thicknesses.
