MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Helper
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- 6 - 12 months experience in warehouse operation.
- Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards.
- Valid Driver's License, CDL Learner's Permit or CDL Class "B" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle record review). Required to obtain a CDL Class "B" with Hazmat Endorsement within 6 months from date of employment.
Apprentice
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- Vocational/ Specialized Training in Electrical Field.
- 1 -2 years' experience in Data Entry.
- 1 -2 years' knowledge of purchasing procedures.
- Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards
- Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class "A" or "B" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle review).
Journeyman
- High School Diploma or GED certificate
- Vocational/Specialized Training.
- Journeyman Certification.
- 5-7 years' experience in customer service
- 5-7 years' experience in data entry
- 5-7 years' experience in warehouse operations
Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class "A" or "B" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Helper
- Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and routing are correct.
- Inspects incoming orders to verify type, quantity, and condition against orders.
- Identifies and marks parts and material using stock number, price, and quantity, then stores them in predetermined location.
- Posts all receipts and issue of materials to appropriate record.
- Orders parts and materials for stock and immediate use.
- Ensures the warehouse is clean and orderly.
- Routes incoming goods to the proper departments.
- Unpacks and sorts incoming merchandise.
- Loads or unloads material, equipment, merchandise or supplies from automobiles, trucks, or other vehicles.
- Assist in the physical inventory.
- Rejects damaged goods or materials and corresponds with the shipper to adjust damages or shortages.
- Checks materials against vendors invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar papers.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Apprentice
- Identifies and marks parts and material using stock number, price and quantity, then stores them in predetermined location.

- Prepares documentation for shipment of materials, and parts.

- Verifies correctness of incoming shipment against bills lading; maintains records of goods received.
- Unpacks and sorts incoming merchandise.
- Routes incoming goods to the proper departments.
- Loads or unloads material, equipment merchandise or supplies from automobiles, trucks or other vehicles.
- Counts, weighs and identifies items in receiving and shipping department.
- Participates in the assembling and shipping of outgoing merchandise or material.
- Packs wraps, boxes or crates materials to be shipped; attaches bill of lading.
- Performs other duties assigned or requested.
Journeyman
- Supervises the receiving and storing of material, equipment, merchandise, and supplies.
- Orders parts and materials for stock and immediate use.
- Ensures the warehouse is clean and orderly.
- Checks materials against vendors invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar papers.
- Develops and recommends improvements in current office and warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service and lower cost.
- Identifies and marks parts and material using stock number, price, and quantity, then stores them in predetermined location.
- Recruits, selects, and provides training for warehouse employees.
- Posts all receipts and issue of materials to appropriate record.
- Assists in the physical inventory.
- Provides for the inspection of incoming materials against orders and specifications for correctness, quantity, type, and defects. Arranges for return of defective material.
- Routes incoming goods to the proper departments.
- Unpacks and sorts incoming merchandise.
- Loads or unloads material, equipment, merchandise or supplies from automobiles, trucks or other vehicles.
- Rejects damaged goods or materials and corresponds with shipper to adjust damages or shortages.
- Participates in the assembling and shipping of outgoing merchandise or material.
- Issues vehicle and equipment parts to vehicle shop personnel based on approved requisition forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
