Description
Must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.
Summary Of Position
The Drill Mechanic requires a strong background and mechanical knowledge of trouble shooting, repairing, component rebuilding and maintaining drills.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks such as fingering, handling, or feeling is required, along with reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, a static hand grip of 33 pounds of force is needed, and rarely at an elevated level. The position occasionally requires sitting with frequent forward bending and rare rotation. Walking, shoveling, and standing with forward bending are frequently necessary. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with minimal assistance.
- Proficient at all basic tasks including equipment PM's, component removal and installation, lubrication practices and basic welding skills.
- Strong working knowledge of 12V/24V electrical systems.
- Demonstrate strong safety practices including lockout / tag out and area cleanliness.
- Understand maintenance workflows, computer systems and related paperwork.
- Perform duties in an environment that requires teamwork and cooperation.
- Operate basic maintenance equipment includes forklifts, knuckle booms, and service cranes.
- Perform major drill equipment component replacement. These tasks also include washing equipment, staging equipment in a safe manor to allow the change of components, documenting the proper data from the components and returning cores for rebuild.
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- The ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Working with the DDS Planner in planning, parts ordering and workflow management.
- Certified to make A/C repairs
- Practical knowledge of drill equipment.
- High School/GED or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience as drill mechanic preferred.
- Strong work ethic

- Self-motivated
- Preferred Atlas Copco experience
- **Physical Demands:**

- Working Environment: **The employee will work in various site environments on rotating shifts with variable hours. The role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions, as well as work within a plant or shop environment and inside the cab of equipment or vehicles.
