JOB PURPOSE:

Directs and coordinates the nursing programs for NTU. Oversees day to day program operations.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops departmental plans, policies, procedures, goals and objectives and ensures compliance to regulations.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises state-required nursing curriculu
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing and administering annual budget; presenting and justifying budget recommendations to appropriate personn
  • Determines required laboratory and classroom equipment need

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hosts regular staff meetings to ensure communication among personnel regarding departmental activit

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field.
  • Five (5) years' work experience in a senior administrative position at an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Current Registered Nursing License in New Mexico or a compact state; current CPR Certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Valid and clean state driver's licen
  • Must be able to pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies and no history of child abuse and/or neglect.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Five (5) years' work experience in a senior administrative position at an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Current Registered Nursing License in New Mexico or a compact state; current CPR Certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Valid and clean state driver's licen
  • Must be able to pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies and no history of child abuse and/or neglect.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirement

  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expert
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirement
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedure
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedur
  • Knowledge of health education theory and practic
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).

  • Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general pub

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT
